What's the Big Idea about this Challenge?
Move to the music of the 60s.
Tackle 45 sets of stairs today.
Do 100 pushups.
Walk outside for thirty minutes.
Dust off an exercise video from the 80s or 90s.
These are some of the many things you might find Jovians doing on their lunch breaks, weekends, and even (so we've heard) while they wait for their pet's vet appointment. All this excitement is part of the Jovian Concepts Get Moving Challenge.
Now in its second year, the Get Moving Challenge allows Jovians to compete against themselves along a pathway of bronze, silver, and gold benchmarks as part of their Personal Growth journey. New this year is an extra-challenging, friendly competition against each other through the formation of Crews.
To participate, all it takes is thirty minutes of movement a day. Around here we pride ourselves on being Down to Earth, Up to the Challenge, so Jovians post encouragement and motivation on our internal message boards and create games and obstacles for each other to overcome. Meeting a posted challenge earns bonus points and Crews vie for top spot on a leaderboard to earn a prize of their own choosing.
With almost half of all Jovians actively participating in the Get Moving Challenge, the program benefits our corporate culture and overall health. From Okinawa to Baltimore, Jovians are sharing experiences and having a good time laughing --and even commiserating-- about sore abs, Richard Simmons, and the benefits (and side effects) of drinking the recommended amount of water each day.
It's a Big Idea to prioritize health and Balance.
After all, Big Ideas are Jovian Concepts.
