The Ghost of Christmas Present is Resilient

Last week we enjoyed a visit from the Ghost of Christmas Past, allowing us to reflect on how fortunate we have been at Jovian Concepts. Baltimore is a town that knows how to throw a good party and over the last ten years we've explored several festive locations around town for our annual holiday party with employees and their guests.

One of our favorite past times is to day dream about where we'll go next.

But it's no surprise that 2020 paints a different view of how to celebrate. Community safety measures close, reopen, and again close venues. We collectively watch the news reports and adjust our comfort levels accordingly.

Resiliency is everywhere we look.

Take for example our holiday party this year. Our originally planned venue changed in the fall, and then changed again less than 72 hours from the event. Remember that Cohesiveness and Loyalty are two of our Core Values and you'll know that parties around here are unstoppable. Employees and their guests (and their pets) donned their bow ties and holiday sweaters, poured the bubbly, and joined President Rich Scheper online. Jovian Concepts provided the gifts and the meals. One of our Plus Ones provided the recipe for our signature cocktail.

With a nod to the Ghost of Christmas Present in Charles Dickens' classic A Christmas Carol, we take time this week to acknowledge these unique times and applaud those who are the problem-solvers. Innovative spirits surround us and we're proud that Jovian Concepts employees exemplify our Down to Earth, Up to the Challenge motto. Being able to adapt with a smile (or, knowing most Jovians, a laugh) and keep on moving forward is a Big Idea. And Big Ideas are Jovian Concepts.
