Get Involved with Jovian Concepts -- Late Summer 2021

A variety of summer activities help us uphold our Core Values here at Jovian Concepts. With activities for families and friends to join the fun and with opportunities to give back to the community, late summer provides a good balance of events. From professional training to personal growth, there is something for everyone at Jovian Concepts.

Summer isn't summer without baseball, and we're pleased to again offer Orioles tickets to our employees and their guests. Judging from the photos our Jovians share, it's not important how many runs are batted in. With great seats and good company, the summer vibes are all that matter.

Jovian Concepts family picnic for Key West Jovians has quite a view.

As we round out summer, we look forward to Family Picnics in several of our locations. Sure, the Key West picnic looks a little different from the Georgia and Maryland picnics-- that's part of the fun. Annual family picnics are a favorite tradition this time of year, partly because they often involve experimenting with recipes for our annual Drink Recipe Contest. Each year, Jovians and their Plus Ones compete for the chance to craft the signature cocktail at our holiday party. Past winners include creative spins on traditional drinks and some original recipes. One year, we even drank out of science beakers.

Professional development is supported this season at Jovian Concepts through our Book Club, reading How to Think Like a Rocket Scientist, by Ozan Varol. In just a few weeks we will have the opportunity to participate in an Author Talk with Mr. Varol through our book club host, PBCGuru.

Many Jovians are also gearing up for a company sponsored PMP Course that will start in a few weeks and run through the fall. To balance all the studying, Jovian Concepts is offering registration for our Jovian Concepts team in the upcoming AFCEA 5K to those who want to stretch their legs.

Game Night is back with in-person table top games. Friends and family gathered this season to play Codenames, Deception, and the new-to-us Captain Sonar at our Mellon Road office. We may continue to play online throughout the upcoming season, but we welcome the chance to gather around some board games together.

And speaking of welcoming, we were pleased to recently host our long-awaited Open House, about sixteen months after we first marked it on our calendars! It was a pleasure showing associates and business partners around our corporate headquarters in Hanover, MD. We look forward to hosting similar events in the future.

Anyone who stops by our office this season is encouraged to bring a donation for the Jeans Drive we're running through September 7th. Men's, women's, and children's sizes are welcomed, so please check your closets to see if you have any to spare. All collected jeans will go to local organizations helping those in need.
