Get Involved with Jovian Concepts--Fall 2023

With something for everyone, from golf players to werewolf hunters, this is a great time to get involved with Jovian Concepts! Ever wonder what our award-winning corporate culture looks like? Take a sneak peek at what's happening this season and get to know Jovian Concepts.

The ninth annual Jovian Concepts Golf Tournament takes place October 6th at Waverly Woods Golf Course. A record number of golfers means a record number of volunteers are needed! The Jovians are Up to the Challenge! Together with Plus Ones and friends, our team of volunteers are ready to extend our Down to Earth hospitality to our generous guests. Proceeds from the day go to the American Red Cross National Capital and Greater Chesapeake Region's Service to the Armed Forces (SAF). If you're at the tournament, please be sure to meet some of the representatives from the Red Cross who will eagerly tell you about the many programs the SAF offers active military, veterans, and their families.

As the temperatures cool and the nights grow longer, many minds turn toward the spookier side of the season. Our game night this month focuses on werewolf games for Jovians, Plus Ones, and older kids. Promises to be a howling good time!

If staying-in sounds preferable to hunting werewolves, virtual BINGO hosted by our Vice President is back after a long summer break! The traditions that help make this online event so popular include following specific procedures when a ball is missed, vying for prizes, and bringing more than just lucky charms to the table-- everyone who attends comes armed with at least a few dad jokes.

For the more artistically inclined members of our team and their Plus Ones, an upcoming paint night includes options to paint glassware and other seasonally appropriate items while learning some tips for adding holiday flair to Thanksgiving cocktails. Paint-and-sip goes autumnal!

Our Professional Development and Personal Growth Book Club starts a new read this season, too. We're jumping into Stolen Focus: Why You Can't Pay Attention- and How to Think Deeply Again, by Johann Hari. The book club includes an online discussion forum moderated by PBCGuru. The club is in addition to the library of resources Jovian Concepts keeps available for Jovians looking to learn a new skill, studying for the PMP Exam, or searching for a self-help book to read by the fire pit.

Can we talk about October without mentioning the fact that our home town team is still playing ball? Of course, we're thrilled to be sending Jovians to Orioles Park at Camden Yards in Baltimore for extra games this year. Go O's!
