Get Involved with Jovian Concepts, Fall 2022
As the air gets a chill and the leaves start to turn, there is much to do at Jovian Concepts! Take a look at what our Core Values look like in action this season:
This month finds Jovians going back in time at the Renaissance Festival and tasting bourbon in Maryland. In Georgia, Jovians and their families are braving a haunted house, Hocus Pocus, and the nearby Zoo Boo. Local opportunities for Jovians and their Plus Ones to socialize outside the working environment build our Core Value of Cohesiveness.
Welcome Breakfasts continue for our newest Jovians as we staff several new contracts this season. The morning events offer a chance to grab some coffee and get to know each other better. The socializing continues as several Jovians look forward to participating in the AFCEA Bull and Oyster Roast in early November. Jovian Concepts is a proud AFCEA sponsor, and the events are always a fun way for Jovians to build relationships within the industry.
The Jovian Concepts Golf Tournament was held October 7th at Waverly Woods Golf Course. A representative from the American Red Cross National Capital and Greater Chesapeake Region's Service to the Armed Forces was present to share her story about the comfort animal program helping active duty, veterans and their family members. After an amazing tournament, Jovian Concepts is further supporting the Red Cross with a hurricane relief microsite as part of our philanthropic mission to respond to community requests. For each employee donation request, Jovian Concepts makes a matching donation to assist the Red Cross disaster response in Florida.
To support of our Core Values of Professionalism and Personal Growth, this season includes a leadership retreat (which has the bonus of some of the best Jovian swag available) and a new read in the Jovian Concepts book club. Thinking in Bets: Making Smarter Decisions When You Don't Have All the Facts, by poker champion Annie Duke, offers a unique way of looking at daily decisions through the lens of game theory.
Two contests encourage Jovians and their Plus Ones to branch out in new directions this season. Mixologists are enjoying our annual drink recipe contest while our mathematicians are taking a deep dive into all things Fibonacci in preparation for 11/23 (if you know, you know). Active Jovians (and those looking to get more active) are enjoying the launch of our second year in the Jovian Concepts Get Moving Challenge. And our more artistically minded Jovians are gearing up for Paint Nite, which may help them jump start the gift-giving season.
Speaking of gifts, the Jovian Concepts annual toy drive starts in just a few weeks. Running throughout November, the collection of new, unwrapped toys and books supports the Marine Corps Reserves Toys for Tots program. Be sure to visit us for Hot Chocolate November 17th as our thanks to all who donate!
