Get Involved with Jovian Concepts December 2021

Long nights and packed holiday calendars are the hallmark of December. At Jovian Concepts we have been finding time to celebrate. Take a look at what our cohesive culture looks like this season.

For the fifth year in a row we have been recognized through the feedback of our employees as a Top Workplace in the program published by Baltimore Sun Media. This honor is a direct reflection of the Core Values that Jovian Concepts maintains. The executive team participated in the Baltimore Sun announcement celebration, giving them the chance to congratulate in person the other companies in our industry and local area who also made the list. Jovian Concepts is definitely in good company!

With so much to celebrate, the annual holiday party held in Baltimore was particularly festive this year. The Baltimore Museum of Industry was the perfect backdrop for mingling and dancing the night away with Jovians and their guests. The museum honors the history of working people, so the location is a nod to the "Down to Earth, Up to the Challenge" humility shared by Jovian Concepts.

This month our Professional Development and Personal Growth Book Club through PBCGuru held an online discussion with Matt Parker, author of Humble Pi: When Math Goes Wrong in the Real World. The stand-up comic and mathematician provided insight to how acknowledging mistakes in mathematics can lead to more thoughtful practice across fields of work.

Early December saw the generosity in our community through our annual Toys for Tots collection. Jovian Concepts collected new, unwrapped toys and books from Jovians, their families, neighbors, and industry partners. An extra box was needed for the outpouring of donations. Thanks go to all who helped the Marine Corps Reserve bring joy to families in our area.

Wreaths Across America is held each December to remember those who have served our nation. Jovian Concepts donates wreaths on behalf of employees and participates in the ceremonial wreath laying. As the Wreaths Across America website states, "our service members sacrifice their time and safety every single day of the year to preserve our freedoms. In many homes, there is an empty seat for one who is serving or one who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.
