Donate to the Maryland Food Bank
Hunger doesn't take a break after generosity of the holiday season ends. Winter is just getting started, and so is the Jovian Concepts food drive to benefit the Maryland Food Bank. Through Valentines Day, you can drop off non-perishable food at our headquarters.
1362 Mellon Road
Hanover, MD 20176
Items most needed are fruit and rice. The Maryland Food Bank prefers fruit to be low sugar, in 100% fruit juice or water. Examples are fruit cups, raisins, applesauce, or canned fruit. The Maryland Food Bank prefers brown rice over white but will accept either kind.
Other needed items include the following:
1% or 2% shelf-stable milk (can also be soy or almond)
low sugar breakfast items
low sodium instant mashed potatoes
low sodium canned chicken, tuna, or salmon
low sodium Tuna Helper, pizza kits, or similar meal prep kits
low sodium canned beans
low sodium vegetable soup
low sodium canned vegetables
low sugar peanut butter
low sugar jelly
100% fruit juice
toiletries such as toothbrush, toothpaste, or soap
feminine hygiene products
low sodium nuts or seeds
whole wheat pasta
Because these items go to individuals and families, bulk items or industrial sized items will not be accepted.
Pop-top cans are preferred because no can-opener is needed!
