What's the Big Idea about our Plus Ones?

Summer provides a chance for employees of Jovian Concepts to gather for our team building trip and our family picnics. Both events highlight our emphasis on our Core Values, especially Cohesiveness and Balance. The most significant people in our lives, who we call our Plus Ones, are integral to such events and our values. Originally shared in 2018, this post shines light on the importance of Plus Ones in the culture of Jovian Concepts.

Some things are just better together. At Jovian Concepts, we recognize that many experiences are best when shared with that perfect partner. Our summer weekend retreat and our winter party are two of many social events for which each employee is invited to bring a guest, jovially referred to as a Plus One. "If a significant other is important to an employee, that person is important to Jovian Concepts," says CEO Richard Scheper. "Including them just seems natural."

Plautus, the Shakespeare of Roman playwrights, once said, "Your wealth is where your friends are." The culture of Jovian Concepts is strong because it extends to the wide circle of siblings, partners, best friends, spouses, cousins, children, and fiances who support our employees. We value the role they play in our employee's lives and believe that our culture is better because they are part of it-- sort of like Campfires and S'mores.
